Immigration Evaluations

I offer immigration or naturalization evaluations.

My evaluation will help document and determine the psychological impact of verbal, sexual and physical abuse on an individual. ​

Cantonese and Mandarin evaluations are available.

Dr. Choi conducts the following evaluations:

  • Asylum evaluation: To assess an individual's eligibility for asylum, which is a form of protection available to individuals who have been persecuted or have a well-founded fear of persecution due to political beliefs, religious affiliation, ethnic identity or gender in their home country.

  • T-visa evaluation: To assess eligibility for a T-visa, which is a type of visa available to individuals who have been, or are at risk of being trafficked.

  • U-visa evaluation: To assess eligibility for a U-visa, which is a type of visa available to individuals who have been victims of certain crimes and are willing to assist law enforcement in the investgiation or prosecution of those crimes.

  • VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) evaluation: To eligibility for immigration relief under the VAWA, which is a federal law that provides certain protections for individuals (men and women) subjected to domestic violence or abuse.

  • Extreme Hardship Evaluation: Assessment of the hardship that an individual or their family would face if required to return to their home country.

  • N-648 Certification Evaluation: This is a form that an individual may file with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to request waiver of the English and civics requirements for naturalization due to a physical or mental impairment. This form can only be completed by a medical doctor (MD), doctor of osteopathy (DO), or licensed clinical psychologists in the U.S.

  • I perform evaluations in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) as well.
